This week has been both inspiring and thought provoking. Monday morning, as I headed toward the trolley, I saw a neighbor on her morning walk. I couldn't help but stare with appreciation when I noticed that she was filling a brown bag with trash from the street. This got me started on a daydream. Imagine how much cleaner our communities would be if everyone left their home with a bag in hand, just to pick up trash on the way to their destination (mailbox, across the parking lot, neighbor's home). One too many times I've witnessed peers stepping over litter without giving it a second thought. I'll admit that I've been one of those people but only because I'm confident in knowing that you have been one too.

Today I was thinking about our not so eco-friendly truck we just purchased. I'm going to be honest with my readers...it's not the best for the environment. Sounds bad coming from an eco-friendly blogger, but I figure I slightly make up for it by taking public transportation every day while my husband drives the truck to work (we don't own a 2nd vehicle). The reason we bought a truck was for moving and work purposes. We also decided that in California, we needed something reliable in order to get over the mountains and a little bigger if we are hauling a trailer.
I was thinking of ways to be more gas efficient and how awesome it would be to convert the truck to one that runs on vegetable oil. I would totally be up for this if I knew all of the facts, so today that's what you're getting! THE FACTS ON VEGETABLE OIL VEHICLES!

BACK FROM HIATUS! As the school year comes to a close, I find my schedule opening up and get the drive to write a little something meaningful. This feeling of completion overcomes me as soon as I hit save to a blog and even more so if I just get one reader. Being able to reach at least one person and possibly be able to educate them or give them an idea is the reason I do this. With that said...here it goes!!!!

I use to think my grandma was so crazy for cleaning everything with vinegar! I think the main factor was the smell! Who wants to walk into a house that reeks of vinegar? As I’ve gotten older and have had to scrub my apartment many times, I’ve realized how amazing vinegar is as a natural home cleaner. It works great on mirrors, windows, and countertops. You can even use it in place of water to clean out your coffee maker! (Another tip from Gran-use newspaper instead of paper towels to clean windows and mirrors. NO STREAKS and you're recycling!!!)
